A hearing was held titled “Oversight of the Justice for All Act PL 108-405: Has the Justice Department Effectively Administered the Bloodsworth and Coverdell DNA Grant Programs?” The programs provide funds to assist federal and state authorities use DNA technology to solve crimes and protect the innocent. The previous week Inspector General Glenn Fine reported that the Department of Justice had not released $14 million appropriated for those programs.
