Former State Department advisers talked about the Muslim Brotherhood’s influence in the Middle East over the preceding three years. The panelists agreed on the need for an “internal need for reassessment” within the Muslim Brotherhood, and that the organization could be considered by many as “more of a tribe than an ideology.” Other topics included the U.S. reputation in the Middle East, instability in the region and relations between Turkey, Israel, and Europe. close
