Neil Portnow talked about active legislation over royalties for radio airplay and other issues, including piracy, copyright law, and digital music’s influence on the recording industry. Mr. Portnow is the head of the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences, which presents the Grammy Awards. He spent the week on Capitol Hill as part of a lobbying effort by the MusicFirst Coalition. Andrew Noyes was a guest host.
