Professor Ronald Takaki spoke about the need for a multicultural rather than a Eurocentric view of U.S. history and culture. He outlined the history of the five major ethnic groups in the U.S.: African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Latinos, Native Americans and European-Americans. After his prepared remarks, he took questions from the audience of students. He was the author of A Different Mirror: A History of Multicultural America. close
