Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi addressed the United Nations General Assembly. He opened his remarks acknowledging that he was the first democratically elected leader in Egypt, following the Arab Spring. He condemned the violence in Syria and called it the “tragedy of the age.” On Palestine, President Morsi stated full support for their efforts in the U.N. and called on the international community to support Palestine the same way they’ve supported other countries. close
