Washington politicians gathered in the Capitol building with Rep. Morris Udall’s wife Norma Udall to honor Rep. Udall’s long and distinguished term of service in the House of Representatives. Earlier in the week, Rep. Udall resigned due to incapacitation caused by Parkinson’s disease. First elected to the House in 1961, he was noted for his skill as a legislator and for his sense of humor and lack of pretension as he served his constituents. Rep. Udall was too ill to attend the reception in his honor.
