The Senate Armed Services Committee took up the nominations for Air Force General Claude Kehler to head U.S. Strategic Command, and Army General Carter Ham to lead U.S. Africa Command. Questions were focused on a wide range of issues, including the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, national missile defense and the START missile treaty.
