The opening speakers on the second day of the conference spoke about leadership in the military. General Palmer talked about strength of character. A military historian, he was formerly superintendent of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a two-tour veteran of Vietnam. Celia Sandys, a grandchild of Winston Churchill, wrote the book, Chasing Churchill: The Travels of Winston Churchill. She talked about Winston Churchill and his leadership in World War II and showed video clips. General Palmer responded to audience members' questions.
