A Senate hearing on military base closing proposals, held by the DEFENCE BASE CLOSURE & REALIGNMENT COMMISSION (BRAC)

The Government Accounting Office (GAO) officials responded to base closing recommendations made by the Defense Department, which affected 146 military installations.

According to the Defense Department, the closings would save $1.8 billion per year.

This is the fourth round of closures since 1988. close
