French President Jacques Chirac and Palestinian President Yasser Arafat addressed the national assembly in Ramallah. In his remarks, President Chirac thanked the legislators for their efforts to make democracy a reality in Palestine and urged them to retain a spirit of conciliation with Israel so that the peace process may continue to move forward.
