Leaders from the National Association of Counties spoke to reporters following the release of two surveys, “The Criminal Effect of Meth on Communities” and “The Impact of Meth on Children.” The surveys were designed to determine the destructive effects of methamphetamine on counties and their citizens. The speakers also said that the drug problem was steadily moving east from California and Hawai’i. Following their remarks, they responded to questions and comments from the reporters. Two graphs were used in their presentation.

Mr. Hansell is the commissioner of Umatilla County, Oregon. Mr. Kyle is a board member for Lake County, Illinois. close
