At this hearing of the House Government Reform and Oversight Subcommittee on Drug Policy, a panel of federal officials testified about the production, distribution and use of methamphetamine and law enforcement efforts to curb its illegal trade. Then a panel of Kansas and Indiana law enforcement officials described the dangers and local costs of dismantling meth labs and jailing perpetrators in rural areas. Food and drug store representatives criticized the control of meth ingredients at the point of consumer sales. close
