Representatives of a number of groups expressed their opposition to proposed new regulations regarding mercury emissions. They said that the proposals were not aggressive enough in mandating reductions in mercury emissions, especially from coal-fired power plants. They also talked about the harmful effects of mercury on health, and the number of people affected by mercury exposure. Following prepared remarks, they responded to questions from reporters. close
