President Bush sat on a stool in the midst of a large crowd of supporters to respond to questions in a “town hall meeting” in Des Moines, Iowa. The president discussed the agricultural economy and recent economic statistics that supported his claim that the country is undergoing an economic recovery. At one point in the town meeting, the president responded to a question from a young girl, who ascended to the stage to speak into the president’s microphone.
