Allen Guelzo spoke at an event honoring the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. He talked about Union General George Meade’s decisions at Williamsport, Maryland, after the Army of the Potomac defeated the Army of Northern Virginia at Gettysburg and forced them to flee.

Due to a signal loss, the program was joined already several minutes in progress.

The talk, “We Had Only to Close Our Fingers: George Meade at Williamsport, July 14, 1863,” took place during an event commemorating 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, sponsored by Gettysburg National Military Park and the Gettysburg Foundation. close
