Rachel Corrie was killed in the Gaza Strip on March 16, 2003 while trying to block an Israeli bulldozer from demolishing the house of a Palestinian family. The 23-year-old peace activist kept a journal since 1989, including from her time in the Palestinian territories. During this event to mark the 5th anniversary of her death, Corrie’s parents and colleagues read selections from her work.

The event, from Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Berkeley, CA, was hosted by KPFA Radio. close
