Mr. Kevin Maney talked about his book, The Maverick and his Machine: Thomas Watson, Sr. and the Making of IBM, published by John Wiley and Sons. The book is a biography of the late Thomas Watson, Sr., former chief executive officer of IBM. Mr. Maney explains how Watson’s influence allowed the company to continue to grow through the Great Depression and transformed it into a powerful worldwide corporation. He also refers to Watson as the first "celebrity CEO". Following prepared remarks, Mr. Maney responded to questions from the audience. close
