Shirley Ann Jackson talked about math and science education. The Senate continues debate on S. 761, a bill that would that help the U.S. become more globally competitive in math and science. It would authorize new initiatives for math and science education programs and promote more people to get involved in those fields. The bill implements recommendations contained in a report prepared by the National Academy of Science, “Rising Above the Gathering Storm,” which was co-authored by Ms. Jackson. She responded to telephone calls and electronic mail.
