Local transit officials from New York City, Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay area, as well as Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Craig Fugate and Transportation Security Administrator John Pistole testified at a House Homeland Security hearing. In their testimony the panelists said that many current and future security improvements would not be possible without federal dollars.
