Panelists talked about sending the first humans to Mars by 2030, and the challenges presented not only by the science involved, but also a changing NASA budget. The panelists said that NASA could not send a human to Mars with its current government funding and would need to look to the private sector in order to make advances. Science reporter Miles O’Brien moderated the panel. close
