Terry Gould talked about his book Marked for Death: Dying for the Story in the World’s Most Dangerous Places (Counterpoint; August 18, 2009). In his book he profiles seven journalists who were killed while covering stories in some of the world’s most dangerous places (Colombia, Iraq, Philippines, Russia, and Bangladesh). He reports that worldwide, nearly three-quarters of journalists who die on assignment are targeted and assassinated for their dogged pursuit of important stories. He spoke about the book at the offices of the Committee to Protect Journalists in New York City. He responded to questions from members of the audience. Joel Simon moderated.
