Bob Woodward talked about his book The Secret Man: The Story of Watergate’s Deep Throat, published by Simon and Schuster. Former assistant director of the FBI Mark Felt recently revealed that he was Deep Throat, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein’s anonymous source for information used to uncover the Watergate break-in scandal during the presidency of Richard Nixon. Bob Woodward chronicled the relationship between himself and Mr. Felt in this book. In it, the author writes about the motivations Mr. Felt had for coming forth with the insider’s information as well as about his years in the FBI with then-director J. Edgar Hoover. Mr. Woodward discussed his investigation and his relationship with Mr. Felt over the years with Mr. Seigenthaler. He then answered questions from members of the audience. Among issues discussed were Mr. Woodward’s book about the Bush administration, Plan of Attack, and the state of journalism today.
