Allan Coukell talked about the Governmental Accountability Office (GAO) report on the make-up of prescription drugs, and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. According the findings of the report, up to 80 percent of the chemicals and ingredients in the drugs were made outside the U.S. Mr. Coukell, who testified at a recent Senate hearing on the issue, discussed the oversight of the pharmaceutical industry, and the risk that foreign components in drugs present to individuals in the U.S.
