Ken Hechler, former White House assistant to President Truman, was interviewed by Robert Watson about President Truman’s relationship with General Douglas MacArthur. General MacArthur led the United Nations command during the Korean Conflict until he was relieved of his command by Harry S. Truman on April 11, 1951, after MacArthur continued to contradict the administration over the expansion of war.
