The Richard M. Nixon Presidential Library was dedicated. The $25 million complex included the former president’s birthplace home. It is a private library unlike other presidential libraries and was funded by private donations. Mr. Nixon was the United States' thirty-seventh president and was the only president in the history of the United States to resign the office.
