Sara Manzano-Diaz began spoke about military women who suffer with emotional and psychological problems. She outlined the Obama administration’s priorities for the women’s bureau including helping homeless women vets.

Other panelists then focused on military dependents. Among the issues they addressed were the impact on families of the duration of deployments and the number of deployments, noting that duration seemed to have a greater negative effect on the family well-being. They also talked about possible policy changes and services to improve family life. They answered questions from the audience. close
