Senate Democrats spoke to reporters about a Democratic bill to “Call for Action to Ensure Honest Leadership.” The bill would slow the “revolving door” that allows lawmakers and staff to take lobbying jobs after leaving Congress; stop lobbyists from trying to influence lawmakers with gifts and trips; and set up an independent office of public integrity to enforce the new rules. Following their remarks, the senators responded to questions and comments from the reporters.
