Officials announced a new multi-agency crackdown on mortgage loan modification fraud and foreclosure rescue scams. They spoke about increased efforts to identify fraud suspects for civil and criminal investigation and issue an advisory to help financial firms flag questionable modification schemes for law enforcement. Attorney General Holder said the FBI had more than doubled the number of agents investigating mortgage fraud cases and created a national mortgage fraud team. They also responded to questions from reporters. close
