Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) along with several members of the Louisiana House delegation paid tribute to former Congresswoman Lindy Boggs (D-LA) who died July 27, 2013, of natural causes at the age of 97. Lindy Boggs assumed the congressional seat of her husband, Majority Leader Hale Boggs, who died in a plane accident in 1972. She served for 17 years in the House, later serving as the U.S. ambassador to the Vatican. close
