Senator Lieberman held a town hall meeting where he talked about the broad base of support behind his candidacy, including the endorsement of independents, and the importance of uniting people across party lines. As reasons for voting for him he cited his 30 years of public service and the consistency of his policies on such issues as health insurance, new jobs, protecting manufacturing, energy policy, environmental protection, and civil and human rights. He answered questions from members of the audience on topics including Enron, Iraq, global warming, health care, and his background. close
