Senator Lieberman visited a Carolinas Hospital System facility, where he spoke to members of the staff. He applauded the work of the staff, but noted that, while health care in the United States was of very high quality, many people were unable to afford health care or health insurance. He also discussed various proposals, including Medikids, a program designed to provide health insurance for every child in America. Following prepared remarks, Senator Lieberman responded to questions from the audience.
