Former members of Richard Nixon’s administration discussed the legacy of the 37th president. Among their topics: President Nixon’s trip to China, his interest in the Native American community, and his administration’s hiring of women and minorities.
The panelists were: Fred Malek, special assistant and deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget; Barbara Franklin, staff assistant; Larry Higby, special assistant and assistant chief-of-staff; Tod Hullin, a member of the Domestic Council for Urban Affairs; and Bobbie Kilberg, special assistant on Native American issues. The moderator was Ron Walker, first director of the Office of Presidential Advance.
“How Richard Nixon Will be Remembered: The Legacy of the 37th President” was the sixth of the “Richard Nixon Legacy Forums” held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace, now the Nixon Presidential Library and Museum.
