Wearing large buttons on their lapels reading, “100 Days,” seven Republican members of Congress briefed reporters on the status of domestic legislation in Congress. President Bush had challenged Congress during his March 6 address to a joint session of Congress to pass significant legislation on domestic issues in 100 days. The 100 day limit runs out at the end of the week, and the Republican members criticized congressional Democrats for holding up progress on the president’s crime bill and the Surface Transportation Act.
