Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) first wished Billy Graham a happy 95th birthday. Then he talked about Health and Human Services Secretary Sebelius' testimony the previous day about the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. He quoted her about Navigators, security issues, and the “blame game.” Senator McConnell criticized the Obama administration for poor preparation and for predictable outcomes such as dropped plans, increases in deductibles, and sign-up difficulties.

Then Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) called Republican criticisms of health care reforms “bad jokes.” He said the they had not offered anything constructive in response and that the health care law was “wonderful for America” and a legacy for the president. Among other topics he praised efforts by Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) for the disabled such as television closed captioning, immigrations reform, and judicial nominations. close
