This portion of CPAC Television’s "Leaders Tour", a daily program on Canadian TV that includes campaign speeches by the party leaders and question and answer sessions with reporters, showed Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin, Conservative Party Leader Stephen Harper, New Democratic Party Leader Jack Layton, and Bloc Quebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe as they campaign for the upcoming election on January 23, 2006. Recent polls showed Prime Minister Martin and the Conservative Party leader in a close race. The candidate not included during the program was Green Party Leader Jim Harris. The election was called after the prime minister’s minority Liberal government lost a vote of confidence in the House of Commons in November 2005.
