British Conservative Party members announced the election of its new leader David Cameron at a press conference at the Royal Academy of the Arts in London. Mr. Cameron defeated David Davis with more than 65% of the votes. After his victory speech, he took questions from reporters and later spoke to supporters waiting outside the event.

Mr. Cameron spoke to reporters about his election as the new head of the Conservative Party and opposition leader in Parliament. In his remarks he outlined his visions for future policy positions, the appeal of the Conservative message, and the party’s chances to regain power in future elections. close
