Philip Hamburger talked about his book Law and Judicial Duty (Harvard University Press; November 1, 2008). In the book he looks at the history of judicial review in the United States. He talked about how ten years of research of previously unexplored evidence challenges the theoretical concept of judicial review and leads to a theory of judicial duty. Professor Hamburger responded to questions from members of the audience.

Professor Hamburger spoke after accepting the 2009 Henry Paolucci/Walter Bagehot Book Award from the Intercollegiate Studies Institute on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. at the Greenville Country Club, in Wilmington, Delaware.

Philip Hamburger is a professor of law at Columbia University Law School. He is the author of Separation of Church and State. close
