Three members of Congress talked about telecommunications and technology legislation they sponsored and issues that concern them on those topics. Representative Bob Latta (R-OH) talked about his bill to prevent the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from reclassifying broadband as a utility under Title II of the Communications Act. He was interviewed in the U.S. Capitol on July 24, 2014. Representatives Brian Higgins (D-NY) talked about his effort to eliminate sports blackouts, as when residents of his New York district can not watch the Buffalo Bills on TV unless the local stadium sells out. Representatives Cory Gardner (R-CO) talked about efforts to reduce regulation of communications in order to spur technology innovation. They were interviewed in the U.S. Capitol July 15, 2014. close
