Representatives of various labor organizations spoke about the rights of women, ethnic minorities and other minorities in the workplace. This gathering was part of an effort to defeat referenda in California on union political spending and bilingual education among other issues. It was also an event to celebrate the relationship between civil rights and economic justice. close
