Alistair Horne talked about his book La Belle France: A Short History, published by Knopf. In the book, the author traced France’s over 2000-year history of war, including the Hundred Years' War and the French Revolution. He also examined the nature of politics and discusses France’s contributions to the world in fashion, talent, and language. Following his presentation, Alistair Horne responded to questions and comments from members of the audience.

Alistair Horne is a fellow at St. Anthony’s College, Oxford. In 2003 he received a knighthood for his work on French history. close
