Sen. Herb Kohl (D-WI) delivered his farewell address to the U.S. Senate after serving 24 years in Congress. He was first elected in 1988. Before seeking public office, the Milwaukee native was best known in Wisconsin for purchasing the Milwaukee Bucks in 1985 to prevent the basketball team from relocating to another city. He maintained ownership for nearly 3 decades before selling the team in 2014. close
