Kluge
In the book Mr. Marcus argues that the human brain is a kluge (klooj), a functional but not carefully constructed device. Mr. Marcus explores memory, decision making, language, belief, and happiness and presents what he contends are the short comings of the brain. Gary Marcus is a psychology professor at NYU and the director of the NYU Infant Language Learning Center. He is the author of The Birth of the Mind: How a Tiny Number of Genes Creates the Complexity of Human Life and editor of The Norton Psychology Reader.
