The House Commerce Subcommittee members heard testimony on federal regulations governing the use and availability of home drug testing kits. FDA officials testified about the accuracy of such tests and why they need to be regulated. Several members of Congress criticized the agency for trying to regulate the kits at all and they continue to urge the FDA to approve tests which use hair as well as urine, which many believe are more difficult to avoid a positive reading. close
