Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson gave the introductory remarks at the annual Congressional Black Caucus awards dinner. Among the topics she discussed were the upcoming fall elections and some accomplishments of African American members of Congress. Following her speech, a film was shown outlining the accomplishments of the Congressional Black Congress. In the keynote speech, former Vice President Gore spoke about the changes in his life since leaving office. He also encouraged the audience to vote in every election and spoke about the accomplishments of the Congressional Black Caucus. close
