In the keynote address, Rep. DeLay talked about the impeachment proceedings. He stated that there is a difference between right and wrong, and that it does not matter what the polls say about the impeachment. He compared the Democratic and the Republican perspectives on the impeachment. He said that there was nothing partisan about how the House Republicans dealt with the impeachment of the president. He also described the differences he perceives between the two U.S. political parties in light of the impeachment. He talked about the problems that military families have today. Rep. Crane was presented with the Ashbrook Award. The Freedom Defender Award was presented to Captain Evans. Rep. Crane and Captain Evans both gave short speeches after they received their awards. Colt Industries gave an award at the end of the program. close
