Retired State Archivist Guy Rocha talked about the story that U.S. Senator Key Pittman actually died before his last re-election and his body was kept on ice until after his victory was secured.

This was one of the myths about Nevada that Mr. Rocha had collected throughout his career for his monthly column. He was interviewed outside the Orion Clemens House, home of Mark Twain’s older brother, where Samuel Clemons stayed when in Carson City.*

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2013 LCV Cities Tour” in Carson City, Nevada, from July 8-12 to feature the history and literary life of the community.*Working with the Charter Communications local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed.*The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events and non-fiction author segments air on BookTV on C-SPAN2. close
