Mary Kay Henry, president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the nation’s largest union, talked by remote video from San Francisco about employment numbers, minimum wage, immigration, and politics. She talked about the September 4, 2014, protests held across the U.S. with the SEIU by fast food workers demanding a wage of $15 per hour through the movements Fight for 15 and Fast Food Forward. The union had been working to organize fast food and home care workers. She also talked about the August 2014 employment numbers released that day. After the interview, the reporters in the studio discussed her responses with the host. close
