Garry Kasparov talked about his book How Life Imitates Chess: Making the Right Moves, from the Board to the Boardroom, published by Bloomsbury USA. A former world chess champion, he related how his understanding of the game of chess relates to other aspects of life. He described his twenty-year professional chess career and his political life as the leader of a coalition opposed to the current Russian leadership. The guest interviewer was Leon Aron.

Garry Kasparov became the youngest world chess champion in 1985, a title that he held until 2000. Mr. Kasparov is the founder of political opposition groups in Russia that include United Civil Front and Other Russia, a coalition that he currently leads. 

Leon Aron is the director of Russian studies at the American Enterprise Institute. He is the author of Yeltsin: A Revolutionary Life and his most recent book, Russia’s Revolution: Essays 1989-2006. Leon Aron left the Soviet Union at the age of 24 in 1978 to come to the United States.
