Judge William Pryor and Thomas Wells discussed judicial independence. Judge Pryor spoke on his definition of judicial independence, cited three previous threats to judicial independence, and asserted that current threats are not serious. Mr. Wells argued that judicial independence is threatened, cited examples, and proferred an idea to improve the judicial nominee process. Mr. Whelan then moderated a discussion.
