Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Strobel talked about the presidential campaign between the two conventions, including drugs as an issue, and other issues. In the next segment, Mr. Ballardo talked about the FDR memorial in Washington, DC which was dedicated in 1965. Mr. Hyman talked about the progress on the new FDR memorial.
